Camping Trip @ Galiano Island

Camping Trip @ Galiano Island (18th-19th of August, 2008)

Photobucket
Our campsite.

Photobucket
Our gourmet lunch: Smoked Salmon. That's the awesome part about having two chefs camping with us.

Photobucket
Chicken Wings.

Photobucket
Soooo gooood.

Later in the evening, we went to the beach (not much of a beach... just a seaside) to watch the sunset!

Photobucket
It was pretty cloudy at first so we didn't get much sun... but it was still beautiful.

Photobucket
The crew (L-R): Anthio, Me, Jason, Chantelle, Deanna, Athen, Bryson & Jordan.

Photobucket
Bryson & Anthio.

Photobucket
Hahahah. Tsk, Anthio is not only gay, he's incest too?

Photobucket
Chimney.

Photobucket
Enjoying the company, the breeze & the scenic view.

Photobucket

Photobucket
Bryson's practicing his "stealing-candy-from-a-baby" look.

Our "oh-so-artistic" silhouette pictures:

Photobucket
Athen: The Cigar.

Photobucket
Bryson: The Man Overlooking the Ocean.

Photobucket
Jason: The Poseur.

Photobucket
Athen & Bryson: The Men... Doing Things.... They Shouldn't Be Doing to Each Other.

Photobucket
Athen & Bryson... again: The Hotdog.

Photobucket
Anthio, Bryson & Me: The Yoga Poses.

Photobucket
The lovebirds.

Photobucket
Aww...

Photobucket
The calming waters.

Photobucket
Jason looks exceptionally like a midget here, haha! So funnay.

Photobucket
As the sun sets, the sky starts to clear a little more...

Photobucket

Photobucket
It's quite ideal to pluck off bugs from your fellow ape friends with the beautiful sunset as your backdrop.

Photobucket
So beautiful...

Photobucket
Picture perfect.

After witnessing the sunset, went back to our campsite and played a round of Cranium!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Once we've worked up a sweat with overuse of brain power, our gourmet chefs went to work for our dinner!

Photobucket
Mmmm, pork chops!

Photobucket
And for dessert, SMORES! Yum. I love smores.

Photobucket
With our bellies full, we chilled around the fire and shared tales of many, many moons and drifted off to slumber...

The next morning...

Photobucket
Can't live without the necessities of modern living!

Photobucket
More wings for breakfast!

Photobucket
And steak... MMM! Who eats steak for breakfast? WE DO.

Photobucket
Me & Bryson.

Photobucket

Photobucket
Bryson & Jason's passionate kiss.
Jeebers, there seems to be a heck-a-lot of gay action going on during this camping trip.

Photobucket
Anthio & Me.

Photobucket
Don't ask me what I was doing, I wasn't too sure either. Might've been slightly buzzed from the massive breakfast I had.

Photobucket
Jay, Me, Dee & half of Anthio.

Photobucket
Can you tell we're a band? Haha. Didn't think so.

Packed our things and headed back out to civilization!
(not as though we weren't surrounded by quite a bit of it in our campsite actually..)

Photobucket
Good-bye Galiano...

Photobucket
On the ferry home..

And that was my short camping trip to Galiano Island!

We barely roughed it out but it was all good fun nevertheless!

Photobucket
My favourite picture of the bunch :)

Blogging from Calgary

Sunday, August 24, 2008

Touched down in Calgary 2 days ago for the weekend and am having a major blast so far!!

I've been meaning to blog my camping trip at Galiano Island but ImageShack's connection here sucks and I can't seem to upload the pictures on Blogger so gotta wait until I get back (leaving tomorrow night).

Anyway, am on my 3rd day in Calgary and so far, everything is going absolutely fantabulous!

As envious as I am that Mandy and Andrew are in Portland (which is across the border to US of A... which with my Malaysian passport, I can't cross over without having to go through the mambo jumbo of applying for the US Visa... curses to the M'sian passport grrr) and shopping their butts off, I am having a considerably fun time and there are sooooo many videos and pictures for this trip, I may have to resort to video blogging for once!

Once I compile the pictures and videos for this trip, I think it'll be pretty awesome.

Stay tuned for me updates; coming soon :)

Nature Walk @ Lynn Valley & Bard on the Beach: Twelfth Night & Movie Review

Nature Walk @ Lynn Valley (16th of August, 2008)

Carson and I went on a pleasant nature walk and did some quite exciting stunts.

We went off trail and decided to go upstream by jumping on various rocks.

This is where my long jump skills come into handy ;)

I think toes are such ugly things but sometimes, the ugliest things can look like art?

The long skinny toes and the fat stubby ones. Heh.

Bard on the Beach: Twelfth Night (17th of August, 2008)

Went to watch Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.

The crowd. I felt so Asian, haha. Evidently, more Whites as opposed to Asians appreciate plays.

As much as I admire Shakespeare's artistic brilliance, having the play recite the full, original script bored the heck out of me. With all the thees, thous, thys... I really couldn't keep up. Just so you know, if anyone watched "She's the Man" (the one that starred Amanda Bynes), well, that movie's plot was based on this particular play. Just because I watched the movie, I understood the play much better.
Honestly, Cars and I were just making our own fun (playing my DS during the intermission and playing thumbs with Cars during the play was probably and laughing about how other people were actually starting to fall asleep watching the play was the most exciting parts of our evening). Nevertheless, it was an experience and also, it thought me to never, EVER watch any other plays from Bard on the Beach, haha.
I could be more constructively critical since I did take Theatre class and I was taught to critically analyze plays but... yeah, there'd be so much criticism that I'd be writing a never ending post (okay, a tad exaggeration).
Well, the one good thing they can be proud of...

The had ONE-- not two... not three-- but ONE standing ovation.

KUDOS!
